The article presents the support schemes available from EU funds in the horticultural sector contributing to an improvement of the product competitiveness of this sector on the international market. The analysis addresses both the support implemented in the scope of the common organisation of the horticultural market as well as that possible to obtain from the structural funds. The assistance concerns primarily the improvement of the demand concentration of fresh fruit and vegetables by directing the funds to the producers recognised by EU laws and support of the market participants in the scope of the information and promotion activities conducted by them. The article provides an overview of the scale of exploitation of the available funds by the participants of the fruit and vegetable sector, as well as the degree of adaptation of organisations and products of the sector to obligatory and voluntary quality requirements. In Poland, the organisation level of the primary fruit and vegetable market is still relatively low, but the scale of the exploitation of EU funds regarding the support of promotion activities is high. Also the degree of adjustment of organisations and products in the sector regarding the quality requirements is high.
2022-02-16T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) https://ahorticulture.sggw.pl/index.php/hala/article/view/49The project of the biblical garden of prayer in the Jerusalem of Szarhorod in Ukraine in the context of the Calvary tradition and the challenges of religious tourism2022-02-25T18:40:21+00:00Cyprian Moryckursikony@gmail.comMarek Kopackimarekkopacki01@gmail.comMargot Dudkiewiczmargotdudkiewicz@o2.pl
The project of the biblical garden of prayer in the Jerusalem of Szarhorod in Ukraine in the context of the Calvary tradition and the challenges of religious tourism. Franciscan Calvaries, an interesting cultural phenomenon, are an important element of spirituality, pastoral activities, and rich enclaves of architecture and art,
known and valued not only by pious pilgrims, but also by a wider public, especially those who love art and the beauty of nature. The topography of the area and vegetation cover, referring to the realities of the Holy Land, are of great significance for outdoor Calvaries. The imitative efforts undertaken over the centuries in the European Calvaries drew a pilgrim’s imagination to the symbolic dictionary of biblical plants, which in turn shaped the experience of the sacrum and favoured further exploration of even better planning concepts and the use of the most optimal species of trees, shrubs and herbs adapted to specific environmental conditions. These arrangements as an architectural and iconographic complex were immersed in the green space of sacred gardens of prayer, which the Calvary complex has undoubtedly been for centuries and is still today. The article presents projects of planting biblical plants assigned to the station chapels of a new pilgrimage centre, taking into account the local topographic values, Franciscan traditions and contemporary pastoral needs. The text is illustrated by graphical visualisations of the whole complex and its individual parts.
2021-01-26T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) https://ahorticulture.sggw.pl/index.php/hala/article/view/50The idea of sustainable development in the Świdnik planning documents in context of the city natural system shaping principles2022-02-25T19:22:43+00:00Natalia Kotnatalia.b.kot@gmail.com
The idea of sustainable development in the Świdnik planning documents in context of the city natural system shaping principles. In accordance with the concept of sustainable development, contemporary trends in the development of urban environmental systems involve the following steps: indicating areas performing environmental functions, maintaining connections between them, connecting these areas with the regional ones and subsequently with national systems of ecological structures. Completing these steps is the only way to preserve the sustainability of ecological structures and their self-regulating capacities, which is pivotal for conditions in cities that tend to change dynamically. This article covers the important topic of the sustainable development of the city’s natural system on the example of town Świdnik, SE Poland. In complexes of the space usage, using the Braun-Blanquet method from 1964, were made 248 floristic censuses. Studies have shown that the largest part of the study area is occupied by synanthropic of association habitats (ruderal and segetal). The greatest floristic and phytosociological diversity was observed in the industry and transport complex. In the multi-family large-panel complex, which can be described as a phytosociological poverty complex, the number of species is the lowest. Research has shown that the Świdnik area is poor in valuable and rare plant species, which is significantly influenced by the transformation of the natural environment in favour of technical elements. The most valuable phytocoenosis patches found in the areas are those from the Molinio-Arrhenatheretea and Artemisietea vulgaris classes which create colourful carpets, attractive from both the visual and environmental point of view as they constitute a useful base for pollinators. Subsequently, the results of research were compared with the currently applicable legal documents on them (local, voivodship, national). The research allows to indicate the conflicts in shaping the cultural landscape and allows to formulate suggestions for the future strategy of supporting the existing heterogeneous ecological system of the city.
2021-05-17T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) https://ahorticulture.sggw.pl/index.php/hala/article/view/51The heritage of the monastery complex of the Capuchin Fathers in the context of the transformation of the landscape of Lubartów2022-02-25T19:21:44+00:00Małgorzata Mileckamalgorzata_kaczynska@sggw.edu.plEwelina Widelskamalgorzata_kaczynska@sggw.edu.plMarcin Iwanekmalgorzata_kaczynska@sggw.edu.plPaulina Hortyńska architektura.krajobrazu@up.lublin.pl
The heritage of the monastery complex of the Capuchin Fathers in the context of the transformation of the landscape of Lubartów. The monastery complex in Lubartów is an interesting structure. Despite the monastic dissolution in Poland and Europe in the 18th and 19th centuries, the monastery complex retained its original function and, to a large extent, compositional layout. Its construction took place in the first half of the 18th century, and since then, it has undergone many transformations adapting the layout to the needs of the city’s inhabitants. The dissolution of the monastery in 1866 and the return of the monks who live in it and conduct cultural activities until now, after 112 years, should be emphasised. The article presents the nature of these transformations and the contemporary resources of monastery gardens against the city’s changing spatial arrangement. After the Second World War, Lubartów entered a new path of urban development, following industry development. Contemporary transformations should not threaten the historical resources. The more so as the complex of the monastery gardens in Lubartów is an important and unique element of the urban greenery system while simultaneously performing important cultural functions.
2021-06-24T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) https://ahorticulture.sggw.pl/index.php/hala/article/view/52The phenomenon of sacred places based on the case study of Sanctuary of Our Lady of Consolation in Czerwińsk, Poland2022-02-25T19:35:20+00:00Ewa Kosiacka-Beckewa_kosiacka_beck@sggw.edu.plDominika Szymkowiczmalgorzata_kaczynska@sggw.edu.pl
The phenomenon of sacred places based on the case study of Sanctuary of Our Lady of Consolation in Czerwińsk, Poland. Sanctuaries are places with special atmosphere. From the observer’s point of view sometimes it is difficult to determine or identify what their uniqueness is made up of and what it consists of. What causes spiritual experience of the space, not only for believers, pilgrims, but also tourists? These are probably the tangible and intangible values most often indicated by landscape researchers. They mainly focus on objects, remarkable interior design of holy places, some historical events, their holiness, the combination of the sacred with the profane – it all adds up and creates the atmosphere constituting their specificity as holy places. However, when observing their mode of action, one important issue is intricacy of the functions they perform, which affects properties of individual objects. The idea and purpose of this article is to present the results of research on the phenomenon of the sacred place of the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Consolation in Czerwińsk referring to other sites of a similar nature. To achieve this, the research was carried out in six selected Marian shrines in three voivodeships: Warmińsko-Mazurskie, Mazowieckie and Podlaskie. We applied a number of methods appropriate to landscape architecture on the spatial and sacred composition of objects, the place context, function, symbolism, colours and meaning. According to the selected criteria, a list of objects was made. Some special observations of the Czerwińsk sanctuary were made to determine its specificity. The user of the site and its activity, history rich in events, local conditions and setting the site in the landscape all turned out to be of key importance for the place. By indicating the features and values of the sanctuary in Czerwińsk our goal is to awaken the potential dormant in the landscape, which requires special care and memory.
2021-11-04T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) https://ahorticulture.sggw.pl/index.php/hala/article/view/53Rural landscape analyses as a spatial planning tool on the example of the Puchaczów Commune2022-02-25T20:53:53+00:00Sylwia Barwickasyszef@wp.pl
Rural landscape analyses as a spatial planning tool on the example of the Puchaczów Commune. The paper presents key landscape analyses enabling identification and diagnosis of the environment, and consequently helping to formulate the principles of sustainable development for specific areas. The territorial scope of the research covered the rural commune of Puchaczów, located in the Lubelskie Voivodeship, where, due to the natural conditions, in the second half of the 20th century the mining industry developed. The study included an analysis of land cover, a simplified analysis of ecotopes, environmental hazards and ecological structures. The result of the above research is the analysis of the tendencies of changes taking place in the commune, which indicates specific problem areas and, as a consequence, allows to propose appropriate directions of spatial development. In the Puchaczów Commune, since the 1970s, the main factor determining the character of the landscape has been the activity of the hard coal mine, which has transformed, inter alia, relief and hydrosphere. The measures proposed in the applications are aimed at stopping the negative effects of mining activities by strengthening the natural system of the commune.
2021-11-18T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) https://ahorticulture.sggw.pl/index.php/hala/article/view/54How does ecosystem diversity contribute to the diversity of beetles, honeybees and bumblebees in Dolinka Służewska Park in Warsaw?2022-02-25T21:19:15+00:00Tania Orellana Pillajomalgorzata_kaczynska@sggw.edu.plIzabela Dymitryszynmalgorzata_kaczynska@sggw.edu.plAgata Jojczykmalgorzata_kaczynska@sggw.edu.plAxel Schwerkaxel_schwerk@sggw.edu.pl
How does ecosystem diversity contribute to the diversity occurrence of beetles, honeybees and bumblebees in Dolinka Służewska Park in Warsaw? Studies regarding the benefits from urban green areas, among them parks, are of very high importance. In order to improve our understanding of biological diversity in urban parks, the presented study was carried out in one of the green areas of Warsaw, the Dolinka Służewska Park. We recorded beetles, honeybees and bumblebees using standard methods in six study plots representing different ecosystems located in the park, among them a leisure space represented by a small horticultural element with sitting places. The main objectives were to figure out (1) to what extent the plots studied contribute to the diversity of the species (2) if the pattern of contribution to biodiversity differs with respect to beetles and honeybees and bumblebees and (3) to what extent does a small man-made leisure space contribute to the diversity of beetles (Coleoptera), honeybees and bumblebees. The results indicated that the diversity of the studied ecosystems influences positively the diversity in species of beetles, honeybees and bumblebees. Individual plots may be of different significance for different taxonomic groups. In park areas like the one researched by us even small man-made places for leisure may be of high value in this context.
2021-11-14T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c)
